Boots and pumps

Kedros, 1975
Metaichmio, 2011

Boots, leather pumps, flip flops, a group of college students and their corresponding group of shoes take us on a journey through the years of German occupation and the Resistance. Couples that break up, political refugees, a boy that dreams of becoming an acrobat and is determined to visit the circus show… even if it means sacrificing his cat to the lions.

These are the heroes of deeply touching stories that speak about living in exile and wanting to come home. Alki Zei’s first short stories, touching upon themes that will later expand into her greatest novels.
